Vickramasingapuram of Amba- samudram Taluk was famously known as Communist fort, before 1960. But, I was admired by DMK activities, since 1960. I am not a member of any political party, but a sincere sympathizer of DMK Even now, I have been engaged as a Computer Operator, in a Village Panchayat. I wish to submit my views gained out of my 20 years knowledge in computer operation. (I have been using system via word, excel, since 1985) (1) Centrel Govt. and State Govt are planning for the public and release funds on the basis of statistics. For Central Govt., state level statistics will do. For a state, district level statistics will do. For a District, Block/Taluk level statistics will suffice. For a Block, villagewise will do. But, for a village it must be in Areawise and DoorNo. wise. Then only, any public can easily be identified. eg. Below Powerty LIne list, TV requirement list. For state level and district level, NIC will arrange and provide softwares. But blockwise, and villagewise, block/village have to arrange themselves, in a format suitable for them. NIC may be advised then and there, to prepare skeleton forms, for every statistics required by Rural Dev. Dept. Every village panchayat has been provided with a P/C. But most of them do not use them. For any statistics, they approach the local computer centres. And they people, prepare statistics in Word Form, but not in Excel form. Excel is a software exclusive for preparation of statistics. (2) The ultimate purpose of computerisation is to reduce printed stationery cost considerably. Every village panchayat is maintaining about some 40 stipulated forms. Skeleton forms may be prepared via Excel and they may be distributed to every village panchayat. And village panchayat staff may be advised to use the computerised forms. Thus, a considerable amount of printed stationery cost may be reduced. Also, the performance of village panchayat admn. may become unique. If computerised forms are used through computer, considerable man-power will be reduced in calculating statistics. (3) The major volume of work in village panchayat is to collect house tax, and water tax, for which they are maintaining a separate printed demand book. For every five years, the demand books are re-written. And, when- ever the DoorNo is changed, the demand books are to be re-written. Being manual preparation, chances are there for manual error. If the demand books are computerised, addition/deletion of entries are easy. Preparation of New Demand Book would be done within some minutes of time. We can access the following, then and there, within a minute. 1. Total number of building 2. No. of buildings exempted for tax 3. Total Tax amount 4. Total collection - Day/weekly/monthly/quarterly/half-yearly/annual 5. Amount due for collection 6. Easy handling (Existing demand books weigh more weight) I am maintaining housetax, water tax demand books via Excel, in a Village Panchayat and appreciated by every high officials. In Coimbatore, New Air Buses inaugurated by you last sunday. For All air town buses the minimum fare is Rs.5/-. It is very difficult to pay the higher rate instead of Rs.2/- for short distances by the poor people/coolie etc. Hence, it is suggested to reduce the fare at least to Rs.3/- and maximum to Rs.7/- instead of Rs.11/-. If it is implemented the Govt. will get a little more income by raising the fare from Minimum Rs.2/- to Rs.3/-. Kindly look into the matter and do the needful please.

Respected Sir, This is regarding a concern faced by the Tamilnadu Women Police Department Batch recruited as per procedure in the year 1981. Only a selected few gets promoted on time during every promotion cycle and for the others it is always delayed by years. For example, few were promoted as S.I. of police in 1999 and are already Inspectors now. But the rest who were leftout, received the S.I. promotion only in 2004, and the Inspector promotion which should've been given early, is still due. Request your high office to expedite the pending promotions at the earliest. Also this is to make you aware that only half of the batch gets promoted on time and the others remain in the same cadre, please look into the reasons behind the same. In our area SRP Koil st agaram one strech of road about 100 metres has innumerable no of TAAMAC shops and innumerable no. of Marriage halls. On any weekends it is a common sight to see the road is fully blocked on one side by marriage people and and another side by the druken people. I would like to suggest that such marriage halls and liquor shops must have parking areas seperately and not obsturcing the common people
